I've worked with writers in a number of ways and can tailor my services to meet your needs. There are those authors who have sent me an entire book – be it a novel, memoir or work of non-fiction – for critique. Other writers have sent me a short story or a chapter or two from a work in progress for feedback. Often times what I comment on in those early chapters can be a guide for work that needs to be done throughout the book. Let's talk!
Book Proposals
Does the thought of writing a book proposal leave you feeling overwhelmed? I can coach you through the process. Do you already have a draft of a book proposal? I can review it and help you refine it before you submit it to an agent. Clients I've worked with have won contests and secured publishing deals.
Coaching
Do you have a seed of an idea that you wish to explore further? We can come up with a coaching plan that works for you. Do you need help with cultivating the habit of showing up, of dealing with your inner critic? Every writer I know deals with resistance at some point. Let's talk. I can suggest exercises to help you move to place where you will write on the good days, the boring days, the frustrating ones and the days that are quietly magical. Discovering your unique writer's voice is an adventure. The only prerequisite for working with me is that you be open, curious and willing to "not know."
